The Basler BT-67 is a utility aircraft manufactured by Basler Turbo Conversions in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
It is a refurbished and enhanced version of the Douglas DC-3, with modifications aimed at significantly prolonging the aircraft’s operational lifespan.
These modifications involve installing new Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67R turboprop engines, extending the fuselage, reinforcing the structure, modernizing the avionics, and altering the wing leading edges and wingtips.
The BT-67’s turbine engines consume slightly more fuel than the original piston engines of the standard DC-3, which reduces the range from 1,160 to 950 nautical miles (2,150 to 1,760 kilometres) with a 45-minute reserve on the standard fuel tank.
Basler offers an optional long-range fuel tank that extends the range to 2,140 nautical miles (3,960 kilometres).
