AgustaWestland AW149

The AW149, a cutting-edge medium multi-role military helicopter, is designed to excel in the toughest battlefield conditions.

It is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, advanced equipment, and powerful weapons, ensuring the utmost effectiveness and survivability for modern armed forces.

With its exceptional safety features and outstanding performance, the AW149 sets a new standard in military helicopter capabilities.

The AW149 has been designed to excel in various battlefield operations, including but not limited to troop transportation, resupply, and external load lifting.

It is also highly capable of medical and casualty evacuation, search and rescue (SAR) missions, and personnel recovery operations.

Additionally, it is well-suited for special forces operations, close air support, and armed escort duties.

The AW149 is also equipped for command and control (C2) tasks, as well as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

The AW149 combines exceptional performance, reduced life-cycle expenses, and the ability to operate in all weather conditions, day or night, all within one aircraft.

Its spacious cabin can be easily adapted to accommodate various roles and weapon systems, thereby improving operational efficiency and ensuring increased survivability in combat situations.

The sophisticated open architecture mission system allows for the rapid and efficient incorporation of mission-specific and customer-specific equipment, avionics, weapons, and defence systems.

The helicopter is outfitted for both day and night operations, featuring compatibility with single-pilot Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and a streamlined glass cockpit.

The AW149 guarantees exceptional crew protection.

Its top-notch battle survivability is enhanced by the high ballistic tolerance of the blades, airframe, and components, as well as a crashworthy fuselage and seats, energy-absorbing landing gear, and structure.

Additionally, the main gearbox boasts a 50-minute dry run capability, and the helicopter is equipped with self-sealing fuel tanks, a fully integrated defensive aids suite, and extra armour protection.

The generously proportioned and uncluttered interior of the cabin, along with the presence of expansive sliding doors on either side, facilitates the swift transportation of heavily equipped troops and mission gear to aid in high-paced operations.

These large sliding doors are specifically designed to support rapid roping and hoisting operations, allowing troops to be inserted and extracted while the aircraft hovers, all while providing the capability for simultaneous suppressive fire from machine guns mounted on the windows.

Additionally, the cabin offers a spacious storage area for stretchers and medical supplies, which can be conveniently accessed as needed.
