Grumman XTB2F
Grumman TB2F was a torpedo bomber project that Grumman intended to be a successor to the TBF Avenger.
Unfortunately, only a mock-up was ever constructed.
This was during World War II when the Midway class aircraft carriers were being built.
Grumman tried to design a new torpedo bomber to accompany those carriers.
However, it was soon realized that it would be impractical to efficiently deploy twin-engine aircraft of that size from an aircraft carrier.
As a result, the plan was scrapped.
